Fiat 500L 1.6 MultiJet (2013) review. Published:05 June 2013. At a glance Handling 3 out of 5; We drove the entry-level ‘Pop Star’ trim model with the 1.6-litre diesel engine – read on
A choice of 1.1 and 1.2-litre petrol engines was all Fiat’s engine department originally had to offer, so the subsequent introduction of a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel unit and a mildly sporty 100PS petrol engine proved welcome additions. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is quoted as returning almost 57mpg, the 1.3 diesel nearer 65mpg.
I have the Dynamic 75bhp 1.3 Multijet diesel GP. Recently, for no apparent reason the engine check light will come on and stay on whilst driving; usually if i am going up hill, or if Increase the revs. When this happens, the car suffers from a massive loss of power, and it seems as if the turbo cuts out - has anyone got any experience of this
The Multijet engine gives 75bhp at 4000 revs which translates to a torque of 140lb/ft at a rev count of 1750rpm. The Fiat Doblo also provides a fuel consumption of around 50mpg. For a 1.3-litre, the Fiat Doblo feels faster to drive on many levels & its 10.5m turning circle makes it great for negotiating busy city streets.
With all the regular services and parts replaced, and an engine overhaul at around 1.8 lakh kilometer, the car's running like clockwork. These days it runs 50 kilometers a day on highways and as you can imagine, for the majority of its kilometers, it clocked them on highways. This post is about the review of the 1.6 MultiJet CRDI diesel engine.
Rhiannon Kamink. Just wondering if anyone here can help. I have a Fiat Doblo 1.3 2008 van. It has had a new timing chain, new injectors and thermonstat as well as a clean of the diesel tank and EGR valve/inlet manifold, all in the last 6 months and was driving great. It started stuttering/nearly stalling a few seconds after startup a couple of
Fiat’s 70bhp 1.3-litre Multijet diesel is smooth, punchy and free-revving, as in all its other applications. It endows the Doblo with decent lumps of mid-range punch even when fully laden.
History. Fiat introduced the 1.3 MJD engine in 2003. It was awarded the ‘International Engine of the Year in 2005. Fiat claims to have manufactured 8,00,050 units of the engine till now. FCA had no plan to upgrade this one to a BA6-compliant one. Therefore, it decided to cease the production and discontinue the engine.
Diesel fans could opt for a 94bhp 1.3-litre Multijet II unit or a 119bhp 1.6-litre Multijet II power plant; both came with a manual gearbox as standard, but the latter could be specified with a
Hello all, first time posting as just joined. I own a 2013 fiat doblo van 1.3 engine. Now I noticed the van had been leaking coolant/water when I had been using the van. Only noticed once I stopped and seen it under the van. I’ve had it to my normal mechanic to see what the issue was and he done pressure tests etc and said it’s the head gasket.
Fiat Doblo (2001 – 2009) At A Glance. Utilitarian looking. Bigger than Berlingo. Available with seven seats. Best with 1.3 Multijet diesel. Handles decently. Problems with turbos of 1.9 diesels. Peculiar looking contraption, the Doblo. Deliberately styled to look utilitarian, almost like a pastiche of a 1930's hotel bus.
