I did end up having to create some stickers to cover the new 3x3 Wedge slope piece since it only is offered in gray and dark red. I'm hoping the make it dark blue in the future. Specifically trouble with the cargo door, when I have Slave 1 in flight mode the door keeps opening and han solo keeps falling out. The connections for the cargo hold door dont have the friction to hold in place. This is a great set and a good way to get it for a good deal!

Also, the holes in the older ones are circular vs the more oval holes in the pieces provided in the set. Seems that an incompatible brick redesign is highly likely. On a positive note, the pegs on the pieces in the Slave 1 set seem significantly more sturdy due to their thicker walls. I think you are correct, sadly. .
